76247 - Pet Safety

1. Keep them cool
If your pet spends time outdoors, make sure they have a shady spot to rest
and plenty of water keep them hydrated. Never leave your pet in your car
unattended. Even on a mild 80 degree day the inside of your car can heat
up to nearly 100 in mere minutes.
2. Identification
Make sure your pet has proper ID in case they get lost. Better yet, have
them microchipped just in case they lose their tags. Justin requires that cats
and dogs 4 months of age or older be registered with the city and wear the
issued metal tag on their collar or harness.
3. Keep pets on a leash
For the safety of your pet and others, keep your dog on a leash at all times
when walking, even if your city or town does not mandate it. Justin’s
ordinance states that it is unlawful for owners not to keep dogs from
running at large - cats are exempt.
4.Vaccinations
Not only do vaccinations keep you and your family safe, they are required
by law in the state of Texas.Justin and unincorporated areas in 76247
follow state regulations that all dogs and cats be current on their rabies
vaccinations by 4 months of age and every year thereafter.
